The Mountain's Eye [Original/Prompt - G] - Amortentia

Standing there as old as time,
the mountains see all that comes,
from valleys deep to peaks so high,
nothing escapes the mountain’s eyes.

Through winter, fall, summer and spring,
through rain, sleet, snow, and sun,
through day and night and afternoon,
the mountain stands and guards its domain.

The mountain has seen villagers come and go,
and traveler’s struggle to cross it’s path.
But while villages and travelers all must disappear,
the mountain stays, ever present and strong.

The years go by, and the people may change,
but one thing in common do they have,
respect for the mountain ever strong,
gives strength to he who travel on.

Like the sun that touches the mountain each day,
and the moon that shines for it at night,
while the snow may melt and the trees may die,
the mountain knows it will never say goodbye.
